Automobiles in German Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers reported they were alerted by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a statement.

Officers state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Police then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials report preliminary tests show the liquid was probably human blood.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for tips.

An important representative said the vandalism left him speechless and required to be solved rapidly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the killing of nine victims by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
